Those who know me well know that I don’t subscribe to the lawn-mowing cult that is America. Even neighbors who *don’t* know me well know this about me. A friend had some visitors from southeast Asia who tried their level best to understand why Americans water their lawns and then cut them. Granted, it makes for a lush blanket of green, but we don’t dare walk on it! So when I came up with a parable for downtown that relates to mowing one’s lawn, how could I resist? It may be the first of two swipes at the downtown financing plan being put before voters. And the softer of the two.
