You love Wal-Mart. Admit it. Or maybe you comfort yourself that you prefer Fred Meyer. The point is the same. What you love best is the convenience of one-stop shopping. So why shouldn’t those who don’t shop also enjoy that sort of convenience? Next week they do. The homeless are being offered again at the Lane County Events Center a single place where they can get a haircut, a bicycle repair, a hot meal, some advice on housing, maybe some mittens and a new hat, and dozens of other services that are available to them throughout the year, but not all in one place. It’s the Second Annual Project Homeless Connect, demonstrating in real time (and space) the services this community provides for its least locatable. It may not be too late to volunteer.
