Grand Jury (Day 2) – A lot like prison

July 20th, 2005 by dk

Civic duty, nothing. This is the closest I’ll ever get to being a government employee. I’ve been on the public payroll for less than 24 hours and already I can feel myself caring less!

We have such power, we seven. If we all woke up one day wanting to, we could put dozens of criminals back on the streets, or we could unleash all the powers of our law enforcement to exact vengeance on the evil ones. It’s like being a superhero, except without the heroics, or anything especially super.

Today we learned many helpful hints about mostly petty crimes. It was a genuine education. If I ever turn to a life of crime, I’ll know better how to do it after listening to the techniques and strategies of local criminals. This is a lot like spending a few weeks in prison, only without the anal sex.

So this is how law-biding citizens get recruited to the dark side! It all makes sense now….
