No grand jury today, but I wonder.
The parking lot directly across the street has the automated cashier in the middle of the block. How many people jaywalk on their way to court?

I just happen to be an expert when it comes to so-called “jaywalking” in Eugene. There is no jaywalking law in Oregon. There are laws regarding the proper use of crosswalks, and being up to 100 feet away from either white crosswalk line is considered a piss-poor attempt to use the crosswalk. After 100 feet, the crosswalk can’t see you. There is also the right angle rule. You can’t cross the street, anywhere, unless you’re moving exactly perpendicular to the sidewalk. So “jaywalk” as much as you want if you’re more than 33 yards away from a crosswalk and you have a signed note from your protractor.
