Quips, queries, and querulous quibbles from the quirky mind of Don Kahle

Why do people say 'after dark' when what they mean is 'during dark'? Last week I was at an event that ended in a Question & Answer session for an accomplished artist, a respected educator, a successful developer, and our city’s mayor. I was embarrassed that what followed were not questions at all, but various people sounding off about how they would solve the problems we had gathered these experts to contemplate. A couple people asked me afterwards why we never seem to make any progress, no matter how much we talk about these issues. Then it occurred to me, that it’s because we all talk. And talk. And talk. But nobody listens.
