Loading ...Is Congressman Peter DeFazio having a good time? He commands a billion-dollar budget for the transportation committee. He’s been right more often than not on national trends. He could say “I told you so” every hour for a week and not repeat himself. His rival in the last two elections has been called up for military duty, making him ineligible as a candidate in ‘08. He turned down the chance to run for the U.S. Senate, preferring to stockpile his seniority in the House, which is starting to look impressive. Life in Washington is still a long way from home in Springfield, Oregon, but other than that, life is good.

One of these four ideas will be developed into a column on Wednesday to be published in The Register-Guard on Friday. I’m asking you to help me choose between them. Between now and the end of Tuesday, leave comments here or send me an e-mail if you’d rather be more private.
